source: [deadline](https://deadline.com/2026/02/nbc-canceled-renewed-chicago-svu-brilliant-minds-stumble-1236731042/) From the looks of things, they're currently trying to find a showrunner (so I'm guessing nbc/peacock are considering/want to renew the show?). Question is tho - who is willing to be showrunner? For continuity sake, I would love to see the current SVU showrunner's writing partner to run it as they would be on the same page and help link the shows together. On the other hand, both Ilene and Shiban did wonders for this show. But I fear dick wolf ~~nasty man~~ has burned the bridges with them (I also heard Mariska wasn't a fan of Ilene's direction but idk if that's fandom gossip) and seeing how the CIA show has had the OC treatment of hell in terms of their showrunning, with even Warren Leight clashing with Wolf and leaving the project, I'm not sure who will be willing to take on the job

I just realized Jet has the personality/ temperament of Daria mixed with the 304ness of Quinn.

Stabler seems to be sure about what happened.

Chris was full of jokes today on X. Then he says this 🥺🥺 Should we hold on to the fragile hope of renewal though a year has passed since they last shot anything for OC? 😢

NBC apparently just ordered a bunch of crime drama pilots - including one by Dick Wolf. [https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/nbc-dick-wolf-pilot-what-the-dead-know-puzzle-master-1236633725/](https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/nbc-dick-wolf-pilot-what-the-dead-know-puzzle-master-1236633725/) Apparently they think people want more crime procedurals.

Mine are such: * "Good For Nothin'": On the first episode, Ayanna gets promoted to Lieutenant; and recommends Elliot as her replacement as the task force's Sergeant. Elliot consults with his family and with Liv and takes the promotion despite knowing his payment will decline. Mostly to retire with dignity after the crap he was through while being out of the force and to stick it to all the younger top brass who looked down on him. * "Son of a Gun": A few of Los Santos' remnants try to get revenge at Reyes by kidnapping his son and holding him hostage for ransom, whilst he's undercover elsewhere trying to blend with an Ecuadorian gang that traffics drugs into NYC; the task force try to keep it unknown to him to not abolish his mission and save his son at the same time. * Reyes' involvement will extend as he will be the team's undercover go-to-guy. On a episodes-long mission. He will report to Elliot via a messaging app in which Stabler will be under a fake profile of Reyes' "hookup"/"unofficial girlfriend" with a communication that is non-suspicious if seen by others, and to persuade his gang members to not snoop around. * No return of Jet; Vargas is taking the hacking spot. * Elliot hires 2 new detectives, who actually operate and have depth and consistent backgrounds (sorry, Jet-fans). * Elliot acknowledges that he is no longer Superman, and uses his mind and experience to help his team but not hogs all the action and screen time (he gets around 40% of it, the rest is the team's).

FYI - The Hunting Party had its season premiere in the 10 pm Thursday slot. And even without a new Elsbeth episode as competition, it did worse than any of the OC repeats that aired in the fall. It’s probably too late for OC, but I hope there is at least someone at NBC appreciating OC more now that both shows that have replaced OC in that spot have struggled and wondering if they made a mistake.

I don't really understand what the point of this plotline was. There is no resolution, they all are in the exact same spots as they were prior to the storyline, and the entire thing was so unrealistic - no, Eamon Murphy as an FBI informant is never going to be protected from murdering multiple people, maiming them, etc.Just don't really get what the writers were trying to get at.

I'm currently on season 3 and I really miss that guy! I loved his and Jet's relationship. He was a master hacker, so why wouldn't he be there? Did they end up shipping his ass to jail after all? Lol They didn't even give him a proper send off. He just vanished.

..is diabolical to say the least 🤨🙄 They should use Mothership clips, right? Won't grab enough eyeballs I guess, LOL. This account barely promoted OC when the new season dropped on Peacock this April but have no problem using OC grabs to promote other L&O shows.

Do you remember that scene where a woman asks if this is her only child and Olivia says yes, for now? Do you think Olivia ever considered adopting another baby?

One would assume that by the 3rd season, Elliot will at least be interested in finding out what happened with Dana Wheatley who tried to frame his son for a murder before she made her silent disappearance (my headcanon: she left on that very night to Canada, bought a few fake passports and boarded a flight to Madrid and then another one to Corsica where she operates under the Interpol's radar, blending in the local drugs scene). We did got a few mentions and 2 scenes of the trialed "Brotherhood" members and of Ayanna's divorce, but that was about it in connecting the seasons. The first 2 seasons were significantly better than the next 3 seasons, and the decline started with the 3rd season that took the show out of curve.

This whole set is so funny. Bernie Sanders ornament with a mask and and then "feel the burn" 🤣🤣🤣 Elliot's whole family is in epic banter form here. I miss them. Thursdays are not the same without Organized Crime.

I just saw a clip of Randall & Stabler in a vehicle wherein Stabler tells Randall to keep secrets from Sgt. Bell and Randall tells Stabler to take care of himself because of his traumatic brain injury. Is OC/Wolf Entertainment setting up TBI as a possible exit option/strategy for Stabler?

On Christmas Eve, I always re-watch *The Christmas Episode.* Just love the way they set it up. Full of suspense, emotional roller coaster and beautifully photographed. The last scene of the episode - it might just be one of the saddest scenes from OC. The Stabler family was looking hopeful and excited after so long and it was disappointment all over again. No Christmas miracles for them 😏😐

New to the Dick Wolf universe, but I follow Chris Meloni on IG. Not 100% sure but looks like he recently changed his profile pic. Is this from an episode of OC?

Maybe I am in a unique position because I am an Albanian .. born there, came here at 5 years old and lived in nyc my entire life but I find it insanely hard to believe that they could not find a single actual Albanian to portray Albanians on season 2 …It’s all a hodgepodge of c list actors with terrible accents from random European countries. If you are from New York you know you can’t turn a corner without there being an Albanian somewhere in the shadows?? I don’t even think they consulted an Albanian for the customs integration, language, or lore at all? That just feels insanely lazy to me?? Especially when you are filming in NYC. There are more Albanians here than there are in our own capital back home??? Literally even consulting with someone like my college criminology prof who studied the Albanian mafia would have given them a better perspective for content than what they have right now. Still blows my mind that they cast Vinnie Jones??? Huh??? I love the show but this season took me out of it for a minute with the glaring issues in casting and cultural misrepresentations. It was ok but I feel like if they actually did their homework, they could have knocked it out of the park and it’s now making me wonder how much effort is going into any of the seasons?

I just want to say I fucking love show, I'm so very hooked and just s1 to s2 just don't miss. Bro holy shit there's no "bad" episodes in my opinion and just hope every episode is so very good. I have no critics in this show at all just in "awwee" on how this this show going with the cast, with the stories, the dialog, and ofc Christopher too thinking there's no way it will be ruined

Who is Elliot talking about? It can't be Benson, since they hadn't had any *recent* falling out. They seemed friendly and comfortable around each other. This is also two episodes before that "I want to, but I can't" thing. Though Elliot did express sadness in that scene over Olivia not keeping in touch but why would he say "I recently *lost* a friend? Could it be Frank Donnelly? I know Elliot got attached to him but he didn't lose him due to any selfishness or neglect on his part. So why would he say that? Anyone can help me understand? PS: Sorry about the blurry pics, Christopher moves way too much during this scene!

Hi I’m just a little confused and maybe someone can clear it up for me. At the end of the episode I thought stabler lost his lady friend that he helped escape in the past, her finger was cut off by the nun and when stabler came back after he heard gun shots the nun was gone and the lady was dead.. but in the morgue later that night his friend finger was not missing? What happen exactly .. did I miss something?

For me, it will always be the Eamon Murphy story: 1. Stabler's undercover identity as "Giovanni" (why doesn't he have a surname? What is he? Seal?) whilst he is supposed to be of full Irish descent in-universe, and Murphy is the same. Couldn't they just go with "Matt Beasley" or "Sam Finley"? 2. The fact Eamon Murphy's dog was almost always chewing a \[rubber\] severed hand. I doubt that even in Ancient Egypt where smitten enemies were counted by their severed hands, you'd see this scenario. I felt this was needless and stupid. We knew Murphy was a serial murderer, this added nothing. 3. Why on Earth did the bar was called: "The Bluff"? Couldn't they find something that is actually cool, like: "The Elixir"? Or "Draft Punk"?

It was the battle of repeats last Thursday at 10. There were no new episodes on ABC or CBS, so it doesn’t mean much. But OC won the demo and total viewers for its slot, so at least it went out on a good note. Considering all its episodes had been available on streaming for 6+ months, OC did pretty well. For the most part it was very competitive with new episodes of Greys and Elsbeth. It’s not unreasonable at all to think it could have regularly won the time slot with new episodes. It’s really unfortunate it never got the chance. http://www.thetvratingsguide.com/2025/11/thursday-tv-ratings-112025-elsbeth.html?m=1

Man what a great show it's been great beginning to end. Christopher Meloni killing it like that at 64 is crazy. I loved the character arcs and the variety of crime organizations they had. One thing I loved about the Finale was how Reyes and Vargas were down to ride with Stabler and how Sgt Bell knew they were helping Stabler but let it slide for a while until it got to the point she couldn't ignore it anymore. And Tim Mckenna quicky became one of my favorites I wish he showed up earlier in the show. It was awesome to have a L&O show that wasn't just one shot episodes. I really hope they at least give us 1 more season to tie up some loose ends have Stabler retire and enjoy life with his family. After all these years they got to give him a true ending to his story. By far my favorite law and order now because Ive rewatched it 3 times and never skip a episode which is rare. What do yall think a good ending for the show would look like?
